"Pronounced like the city LA"- Q & A with Elhae

January 13, 2011

Q&A with Elhae ( Hey that rhymes...lol)

1. How did you come up with your rap name?

My name has alot of history behind it. My name means alot to me, it's an acronym for Every Life Has An Ending. It reminds me to dream. to put my all into everything i do. Most people get it wrong lol but its pronounced like the city LA.

2. If your music was a color what would it be and why?

I think every artist can see colors when hearing music. It's actually a name for that. It's called Synesthesia, I learned that from Pharrell a while back, when N*E*R*D dropped 'Seeing Sounds' (which by the way is an amazing album) but when I listen to my music the colors differ. If it's a deep dark record i may see red, but if I was to listen to a party record, I'd see blue and green. I don't it just differs lol.

3. What new projects are you working on?

Seventh Fall is the name of the new project. It's to drop midnight January 18th. Which is right around the corner. you can get it on my website http://elhae.com/

4. Talk about your process of making a album, what is it like?

Aww man, it's an amazing thing. I have to have a clear mind before going into any new project. With me though its a bit different because at the moment I'm doing EVERYTHING. I produce all my music. write everything, and mix it. It's time consuming. I just wrapped up this new project, and my eyes are blood shot from lack of sleep, but its worth it. I say that because I can listen to it all the way through and i can honestly say I'm satisfied.

5. How do you keep your music fresh and new?

I don't know man, i don't exactly start a record off by thinking or saying that to myself. Most of the time I start a beat, and as I'm making the beat I'll hum a melody to it, that melody becomes words, then i just arrange them, thus explaining why On 'Seventh Fall' I didn't write one hook. I say what i feel, and sometimes it gets me in trouble, but i wont apologize for being me.

6. What Is the most inspiring thing that has happen to you?

hmm...I guess i would have to say the supporters. Knowing people really dig my music is really inspiring. I've had people thank me for helping them through a break up, some have said they cry when they listen to a song. It's all about being relatable for me, and I live for moments like those.

7. Where can people hear your stuff?

hmm..I'm some of everywhere. scattered. I guess the most reliable source would be http://elhae.bandcamp.com/ which has my recent project "the zero" on there, and will soon have "Seventh Fall"
